Eric Shirbini, Global Research and Investment Solutions Director at Scientific Beta, will be sharing his views and experience on the topics of "Evaluating Alternative Beta Strategies" and "Are the Benefits of Multi-Factor Investing Still There?" at the Institutional Forums organised by Markets Group on 13 March, 2019 in Ohio and 27 March, 2019 in New York respectively.
Eric Shirbini, Global Research and Investment Solutions Director at Scientific Beta, has been invited to participate as a panelist in the session on "Evaluating Alternative Beta Strategies" at the 6th Annual Ohio Institutional Forum on 13 March, 2019. The session will examine what investors should look for when evaluating the new generation of beta strategies, the importance of the flexibility of having alternative weighting methods, and the strategies’ correlation with established benchmarks.
On 27 March, 2019 in New York, Eric Shirbini will also be speaking at the 7th Annual Tri-State Institutional Forum where the theme of the panel session will be "Are the Benefits of Multi-Factor Investing Still There?". In the past two years, the performance of factor strategies has not been as attractive as in the last ten years. Many commentators have concluded that factor crowding phenomena could be eroding the returns associated with traditional long-term rewarded factors. This presentation will show that the recent underperformance of multi-factor strategies is not necessarily related to factors, but is instead linked to non-explicit risks embedded in multi-factor indices or funds. Discussion of this topic will also be extended over a networking luncheon in the format of a roundtable, hosted by Eric Shirbini.
The Institutional Forums are designed for pensions, endowments, foundations, hospital plans, insurance companies and investment consultants.
