Simply committing to a net zero by 2050 target, as most super funds have, and claiming alignment with the Paris Agreement goals was not enough, Dr Wade told The Australian Financial Review, because “not all net zero pathways are created equal”. ’To meet the ISSB standards super funds needed to disclose any interim targets. Without achieving more frequent decarbonisation targets, she said, hitting net zero was “aspirational”.
