Eric Shirbini, Global Product Specialist at ERI Scientific Beta, will be speaking at a webinar on the theme "Smart Beta Strategies" organised by P&I on 28 September, 2016 at 2.00pm ET. The webinar will survey various approaches and will enable attendees to hear how organizations have structured themselves to most effectively manage their smart beta strategies and how these strategies fit into the overall investment plan.

Smart Beta strategies have proliferated over the past couple years and have evolved to become more complex and more active. There is now a very wide, and confusing, array of strategies, products and providers. The question isn’t only which strategy is most effective, but which approaches fit best within a particular portfolio and meet the investor’s specific objectives. As smart beta strategies incorporate more factors, cost control, risk management, and tactical management become larger concerns.

The Smart Beta Strategies webinar will survey various approaches. In addition, attendees will hear how organizations have structured themselves to most effectively manage their smart beta strategies and how these strategies fit into the overall investment plan. Topics to be discussed include:

Prior to joining EDHEC-Risk Institute, Eric Shirbini was a quantitative analyst at UBS, BNP Paribas and Nomura International. During this time he worked on a diverse range of topics including multi-factor models, fundamental stock valuation, equity market indices, portfolio construction and portfolio trading. At BNP Paribas Eric managed a team of analysts who were responsible for the Global Equity Research Database. Mr. Shirbini holds a BSc and PhD from University College London and an MBA from CASS Business School.
