Eric Shirbini, Global Research and Investment Solutions Director at ERI Scientific Beta, will be participating as a panelist in a critical discussion on "The True Costs of Smart Beta: An Institutional Perspective" during the Institutional Accelerator Workshop at the Inside ETFs Europe conference on Tuesday 24 October, 2017.

Eric Shirbini, Global Research and Investment Solutions Director at ERI Scientific Beta, will be speaking at the Institutional Accelerator Workshop held on the occasion of the Inside ETFs Europe conference on Tuesday 24 October 2017, on the theme "The True Costs of Smart Beta: An Institutional Perspective". This critical discussion will examine the latest data on the true implementation costs of smart beta strategies and explore whether their performance benefits hold up in the harsh light of day.

The Institutional ETF Accelerator at Inside ETFs Europe offers a dedicated workshop for Europe's leading institutions to dig into the topics that matter most to them in an up-close, highly interactive setting. Limited to 50 participants, the Accelerator will leverage presentations from leading academics, ETF issuers, index researchers and institutional investors as a springboard to jump-start discussion amongst all members of the workshop. 

Prior to joining EDHEC-Risk Institute, Eric Shirbini was a quantitative analyst at UBS, BNP Paribas and Nomura International. During this time he worked on a diverse range of topics including multi-factor models, fundamental stock valuation, equity market indices, portfolio construction and portfolio trading. At BNP Paribas Eric managed a team of analysts who were responsible for the Global Equity Research Database. Mr. Shirbini holds a BSc and PhD from University College London and an MBA from CASS Business School.
