Frederic Ducoulombier, Director and Head of Business Development for Asia ex Japan at ERI Scientific Beta, has been invited to make a presentation on the subject "Understanding Smart Beta" to the members of the CFA Society Saudi Arabia.

Frederic Ducoulombier is head of corporate affairs and Asian business development for Scientific Beta, the index venture started by EDHEC-Risk Institute, the risk and investment management research centre of not-for-profit EDHEC Business School. As an associate professor of finance and program manager at EDHEC Business School, he introduced CFA exam material into the MSc in Finance (a CFA program partner since 2006/2007) and in his graduate finance courses. At EDHEC-Risk Institute, he developed a series of joint executive education courses with CFA Institute, including the Advances in Asset Allocation Seminar which has been running since 2008. Over the last couple of years, his research and advocacy work (http://sg.linkedin.com/in/ducoulombier) has focused on the risks and regulation of collective investment schemes, exchange-traded funds and indexing. He has recently been invited to sit on the consultative working group of the European Securities and Markets Authority's standing committee on Financial Innovation (FISC).
