Eric Shirbini, Global Product Specialist at ERI Scientific Beta, has been invited to participate in the Canada Institutional Investor Forum in the session on "Smart Beta: Opportunities for Improved Portfolio Design" on Tuesday 14 June, 2016 which will examine what smart beta is and why it is becoming so popular with investors.

Eric Shirbini, Global Product Specialist at ERI Scientific Beta, has been invited to participate in the Canada Institutional Investor Forum as a panelist in the session on "Smart Beta: Opportunities for Improved Portfolio Design" on Tuesday 14 June, 2016. The session will examine what smart beta is and why it is becoming so popular with investors. It will enable participants to understand the key drivers of return and issues when considering smart beta in a portfolio.

The Canada Institutional Investor Forum is specially designed to bring together over 100 senior investment officers, board members and investment consultants representing the institutional investor community in Canada, including public pension funds, university endowments, foundations, healthcare organisations, corporate pension funds and insurance companies.

Prior to joining EDHEC-Risk Institute, Eric Shirbini was a quantitative analyst at UBS, BNP Paribas and Nomura International. During this time he worked on a diverse range of topics including multi-factor models, fundamental stock valuation, equity market indices, portfolio construction and portfolio trading. At BNP Paribas Eric managed a team of analysts who were responsible for the Global Equity Research Database. Mr. Shirbini holds a BSc and PhD from University College London and an MBA from CASS Business School.
