Asia Asset Management: "Singapore Exchange (SGX) is acquiring 93% of Scientific Beta, a provider of smart beta indices, for 186 million euros (US$205.5 million), in a move to bolster its research-based index design capabilities. The stake is sold by Singapore Holding of the EDHEC Endowment Fund (SHEEF), which will keep the balance 7%, SGX says in a statement on January 24."

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is acquiring 93% of Scientific Beta, a provider of smart beta indices, for 186 million euros (US$205.5 million), in a move to bolster its research-based index design capabilities. The stake is sold by Singapore Holding of the EDHEC Endowment Fund (SHEEF), which will keep the balance 7%, SGX says in a statement on January 24. SHEEF is owned by France’s EDHEC Business School and its alumni, and the management team of Singapore-based Scientific Beta. It will retain a seat on the index provider’s board and remain as a strategic partner of SGX after the deal, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month. (...)"
