Scientific Beta

ERI Scientific Beta is pleased to announce the availability of a Replication module in September 2013 on its smart beta platform, as part of its objective to facilitate the replication of the Scientific Beta indices, together with new functionalities available to premium account subscribers, such as access to full performance and risk reports for each of the Scientific Beta Indices and the availability of additional advanced analytics.

ERI Scientific Beta is pleased to announce the availability of a Replication module in September 2013 on its smart beta platform, as part of its objective to facilitate the replication of the Scientific Beta indices. 

The module, which requires an additional subscription, will offer the following features: 

• FTP access
• Constituent weights (daily, quarterly)
• End of day equity stock prices, spot rates   
• Corporate actions (daily, announcements)
• Rebalancing preview information (quarterly)
• SEDOL identifiers
• TRBC (sector classification) 

In addition to providing daily valuation and current weight files with SEDOL codes, this new module will enable investors and asset managers  to anticipate the processing of announced corporate actions and quarterly rebalancing by providing a preview of corporate actions, and quarterly review files with SEDOL identifiers.  This will include the actual impact of corporate actions (price adjustment factor, shares adjustment factor) allowing index users to check these results against the announcement. The module will be available through a secure FTP service. 

At the same time, premium account subscribers will benefit from new functionalities, notably: 

• Access to a full performance and risk report in PDF format for each of the Scientific Beta indices, containing the complete standard and advanced analytics (description, latest and annual performances, performance and risk characteristics, top holdings, weight profile analysis, global relative risk analysis, CAPM analysis, Fama-French factor analysis, Carhart factor analysis, bull/bear market performances, high/low volatility regime performances, sector allocation, sector performance attribution). 

• The availability of additional advanced analytics (assessments of turnover and capacity, diversification and deconcentration statistics: Goetzmann-Li-Rouwenhorst diversification measure, probability of outperformance).

Consequently, some changes to the standard and premium account subscriptions will also take effect in September 2013: 

• Access to the standard analytics will be extended from the 30 Scientific Beta flagship indices to all of the 2,442 Scientific Beta indices available on the platform for standard account users. 

• The current weights will only be available through subscription to the Replication module, with the exception of the Scientific Beta flagship indices, for which the current weights will continue to be made available for both standard and premium account users.
