It defines the criteria for selecting liquid and reliable cryptocurrency exchanges that support the iEdge CoinDesk Cryptocurrency Reference Rate Indices and iEdge CoinDesk Cryptocurrency Real-Time Indices (collectively, the iEdge CoinDesk Cryptocurrency Indices). These indices require input data from at least two constituent exchanges.
The universe of eligible constituent exchanges is determined based on a set of selection criteria, constructed in collaboration with CCData’s Exchange Benchmark Report, a robust framework for ranking and assessing the risk associated with digital asset exchanges powered by CCData’s market leading solutions. The Exchange Benchmark ranks cryptocurrency exchanges from grades AA-F. A Top Tier exchange is classified as any exchange in the AA-BB bracket. This grading represents a means of ranking according to risk. It does not serve as a guide to which platform is superior for trading, nor the reliability of reported volumes.
The selected constituent exchanges are proposed by the Product Development Committee and determined through a review by the CryptoCurrency Oversight Committee, which comprises practitioners and stakeholders.
A cryptocurrency exchange may be nominated for addition or removal from the list of Constituent Exchanges by any persons by emailing index@sgx.com.
